CHECK-LIST, MAINTENANCE

Cold-Welding between the locking Nut and Bolt / threaded rod, is a phenomenon that may occur, to prevent this R&T recommend using a Locking Nut with a wax treatment, alternatively to apply grease to the Nut upon tightning.

Wax Treatment of the nut reduces friction and thus the possibility for the nut to get jammed. Waxed lock nuts can be purchased at all bolt product suppliers.
